Reconfiguration of 4 Bed House, Mount Merrion, Co. Dublin

This 1940’s “forever home” had already been a family home for over 40 years before the client approached me to reconfigure the space. With grown children and now grandchildren, the client needed a larger kitchen space as well as a new downstairs bathroom to future proof the home. The ground floor was already large enough, so by reconfiguring the existing spaces, a new cloak room, shower room and utility room, as well as a large open plan kitchen living/ dining room were achieved. New sliding doors and larger windows opened the space up to the mature garden. The house was fully externally insulated. Upstairs the bathroom was redesigned to fit an ensuite into the master bedroom. Modern colours and finishes were chosen to achieve a light and airy space.
